They include an eclectic mix and all of them have their own special features and strengths.

1.Grand Canyon National Park
Let’s start with an obvious one, but one which really needs to be ticked off once in a lifetime. The Grand Canyon needs no introduction. It is huge with so much to explore and a ridiculous amount of hikes, ravines, valleys and rivers. There are options for luxury camping at one of the top US National Parks. Luxury camping is also known as Glamping, and is a truly remarkable way to spend a night beneath the stars in a park so idyllic like the Grand Canyon.

3.Big Bend National Park
Named because it has a large and obvious bend sitting by the USA to Mexico border, Big Bend National Park is one for those into exploring an off the beaten track venue. It has some great hiking and nature trails and also contains fossils and cultural artefacts from the Native American times. There are rivers and mountains aplenty too.

4.Crater Lake National Park
Without going to the moon, you can see a huge crater here, bang in the centre of a former volcano. The colour of the lake is famously blue. The water is clear and the crater lake here is officially the deepest lake in the whole of the United States. The original volcano, Mount Mazama collapsed 7,700 years ago, leaving behind this lake. Prepare to be amazed.

5.Dry Tortugas National Park
Finally, a really special place for the list. This is the local of Fort Jefferson, the largest masonry structure in the western hemisphere. These islands are known as the Dry Tortugas and the national park here also includes some of the ocean nearby. What this means is you can only access it by small plane or boat. There are some shipwrecks and amazing coral reefs to check out as well as Fort Jefferson just off the Florida Keys.

So what are you waiting for? Get out there and explore the USA while you can!
