Since that launch 12 years back, the world has changed, fast internet, Facebook, the smartphone generation and mobile data have arrived on the scene, and it’s now pretty easy to make free international calls – Skype is a big example of this. Zip Call came up with an idea that means travellers should be able to keep touch with family for cheaper and in the case of the new initiative, for free.

So the beginning of this project from Zip Call allows free calls to the USA and Canada from the UK. As travellers this is a dream move and they aim to grow the network and introduce more and more countries into the mix. It’s an exciting time for the company and hopefully this idea will kickstart some more really cool budget travel initiatives.
