When you’re going to Hong Kong you might not immediately think of it as a sporting hub. You couldn’t be further from the truth. Sport is massive in Hong Kong away from the business world and the Kong plays host to a load of world famous sporting events year after year. They are all well attended and popular and I’ve picked out my personal top 5 sporting events in Hong Kong from a hat trick of years living and breathing this cool country. 1. Golf – Hong Kong Open The Hong Kong Open is an annual golf tournament in November held out at Fanling. It […]

Summer warmth and activities may seem topics for a distant future as you enjoy the holiday season and brave the bluster of winter. However, this is the best time of year for you to begin taking steps to get a beach-ready summer body. The indulgence of the Christmas season and the eagerness to resolve to do better in the New Year may be just the incentive needed to get you started and, with six months to go until the summer season commences, there is plenty of time to lose weight and get in shape in a healthy and more long-lasting way. Setting realistic goals […]

Thailand is never the one must see place on my personal radar, but for most – it is. It’s a sure fire must see for most travellers to Asia and it’s loved by most travellers I meet. That’s why I thought it would be cool to do a top 5 tips for travelling in Thailand from my own experiences. 1. Start in Bangkok, But Don’t Worship It Bangkok is an enigma and I’ll never work the place out. But it’s a perfect place to start your Thailand journey in. Fly into Suvarnabuhmi Airport and get your logistics sorted here while trying the local food and […]

Japan truly is a must-see destination, with more weird and whacky snippets than any other country in the world. Where else can you come across a vending machine where you can purchase underwear or beer?   Japan is famous for their high-speed trains, sumo wrestlers, sushi, cherry blossom festivals, samurai swords, ninjas, castles, temples and their super-speedy internet, anime and manga, and the list goes on. There is no chance that you will be bored whilst in Japan.   There are so many weird and wonderful things to experience in Japan, with countless things to see, including Mt Fuji, the Himeji-jo castle, the Tokyo national […]

Top 4 Tips for Restauranting by Hoang Thanh Binh What is the best part of traveling? Surprisingly, it is eating. As I look at the best attraction in town, 9 out of 10 are restaurants. So, what are we looking for at the restaurant? 1) Customer’s Service It is not a big surprise with this but first impression is really important. Nice, warm welcome is going to attach more customers. It feels like part of the family and so the food tastes nicer. If you see Master Chef or anything on YouTube, there are plenty of cooking recipe out there. Everyone can cook but not […]

Traveling abroad gives the opportunity to appreciate other cultures and obviously have a good time. One of the world’s great cities well worth a visit is the Japanese capital Tokyo. The metropolitan area of Tokyo has a population in excess of 12 million, but that figure mushrooms to around three times that figure for Greater Tokyo, making it one of the largest populated urban areas in the world, which can be bewildering for the stranger.   Another major difference likely to baffle visitors is the language. Japanese is from a completely different linguistic family than English and while the written language looks very picturesque it does not have an alphabet as English speakers know it. These differences, however, should be […]

People have many reasons to travel and it’s the diversity of those reasons that makes it such an interesting society. While some travellers want to see the most beautiful natural features of the world and others want to visit the most interesting cultural heritage highlights of the world, there are some of us who just want to see the biggest, tallest, greatest, oldest etc. of what the world has to offer. If you are planning to visit dubai you can apply for dubai visa online. Here are some of my tips from the United Arab Emriates, North Korea and beyond. The Tallest Buildings Many countries in the […]

East Timor is a relatively new country and backpacking location. I toured there recently as part of my quest to have visited every country in South East Asia. I found that the country itself has a lot to offer travellers and to use a cliched term, it’s slightly off the beaten path. Here are five sights for sure you must tick off when you’re there. 1. The Jesus Statue, Cape Fatucama East Timor is a Catholic country and one of their key points of interest is the massive Jesus Statue at Cape Fatucama. It’s only 7 kilometres east of Dili and sits high and proud […]

First of all, there are lots of different types of Chinese visas available if you are keen to travel and work in China, although they are all referred to by letters (Z, Y etc…) as well as having ordinary names too (the various types of visa are of course valid in different circumstances, which I will detail in this post). A good thing thing to note before getting to the Chinese visas is that Chinese bureaucracy is incredibly slow and you need to be extremely patient as the visa process can sometimes be very troublesome (even if you have all the required documents). There are […]

It is common to expect that when you visit another country, one thing that you will find unique to that country is the style of the homes. Everything from the doors to the floors and the roof may differ from what you are used to back home. In Japan, the homes enjoy unique architecture that can run from historic to very modern. While many people might think of tatami floors and sliding doors when imagining a home in Japan, the Japanese enjoy many different types of housing. Some common houses that you are likely to run into include single-family homes, multiple unit housing, boarding homes, […]
