Sometimes you long to get away from the city and have a relaxing weekend out in the country, but where can you go that’s a relatively short drive away? If you’re anywhere near Broken Bow Lake in Oklahoma, you might consider making reservations at a place such as Beavers Bend Cabins or Bear Mountain Lodging. There, you can relax in the serenity of the woods, enjoying spectacular views as well as peace and quiet away from traffic and crowds.

Of course, you don’t want to sit around your cabin all day. You’d like to experience some outdoor fun as well. In the Broken Bow Lake area, you have plenty of opportunities to go on hikes, take bike rides, ride horses, fish in the lake and go boating or canoeing. You don’t have a boat? That’s no problem — you can rent one for an affordable price!

What are the cabins like? Well, the term “cabin” is a bit of a misnomer, because these buildings are more like lovely country houses with all the amenities you might need for a weekend on the edge of the wilderness. You might reserve a cabin with a fireplace, a whirlpool tub, a big deck, a large flat-screen TV and other fine features.

Some cabins have a loft area in addition to the main floor, and several are large enough for eight people to stay in. That’s great if you have a big family or you want to spend the weekend with several friends. In contrast, the smaller cabins are perfect for one or two people. One person might love the idea of spending a quiet weekend in solitude, exploring nature and relaxing on the deck. A couple might enjoy a romantic weekend by themselves without distractions. They may even consider coming here for their honeymoon or a special wedding anniversary.

The cabins aren’t directly on the lake shore, as no buildings are allowed there in order to keep Broken Bow Lake in pristine condition. It’s only a nine-mile drive from the resort to the lake, and there’s plenty of natural acreage surrounding the cabins.
