The Tampa Bay area in Florida is known for its beautiful beaches, Gasparilla Pirate Festival, and cultural history. But Tampa also has great dining and high-energy nightlife you won’t want to miss.

Mangroves

The name sounds like it should be in te rivers above, but this place will float your boat. This SoHo restaurant and lounge offers a dinner menu of New American cuisine, an extensive wine list, and a sophisticated Florida ambience. Mangroves offers indoor and outdoor dining on two floors, as well as VIP tables by the bar downstairs and a loft with another full bar upstairs. So come for dinner and stay for the nightlife.

Blue Martini

Open every night of the week until 3 a.m., Blue Martini is an upscale bar and lounge with three distinct experiences. The patio is casual, the VIP area is private and intimate, and the stage room is full of dancing. The bar enforces a dress code after 8 p.m., so this is the perfect spot for a classy night out.

Whiskey Joe’s

For a casual, beachy experience, there’s no place in Tampa better than Whiskey Joe’s. The barefoot bar offers corn hole, fire pits, a private beach, and live music. The best part? It’s just like the beach, with sand everywhere. You can access the bar via the water with your boat or jet ski.

Club Prana

Each floor of this five-floor club features a different experience. The top floor is open to the sky, with beautiful nighttime city views and reggae music. The fourth floor is a nightclub with live dancers on stage and premier lighting. The third and second floors are for VIPs, and the first floor is an upscale lounge with plenty of seating and dancing.

DrYnk

A fusion of lounge and club, DrYnk offers both exclusivity and a high-octane nightclub experience. Custom LED lighting and screens all over the place (including an impressive ceiling display) create the perfect ambience for every individual DJ and event.

Hogan’s Beach

Hogan’s Beach is a sprawling restaurant and bar, with square footage split between inside and outside. Tiki huts serving beer and a wide stretch of sand make outside a fun place to hang. Hogan’s also features live music, with acts like The Dirty Heads and great special events.

Jannus Live

Though not technically located in Tampa (but across the bay in St. Petersburg,) Jannus Live is worth a mention for multiple reasons. The outdoor music venue has some of the best shows you’ll see, drawing in acts like Dropkick Murphys and Young the Giant, as well as offering a number of free shows and local acts. Jannus is connected to popular downtown bar MacDinton’s and is centrally located in the midst of St. Pete’s wired nightlife.
